Saudi Arabia: Reduction of Accumulated Traffic Violation Payments

In implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Ministry of Interior has announced a reduction in the payment of accumulated traffic violations for offenders by exempting 50% of the value of traffic violation fines registered against them before 9/10/1445 AH, corresponding to 18/4/2024 AD. This initiative is in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).

The Ministry of Interior clarified that to benefit from the 50% reduction in fines, the violator must pay all accumulated traffic violations within 6 months of the reduction's effective date, either in a single payment or by paying each violation separately, and must refrain from committing violations that affect public safety.

The ministry indicated that for violations committed after the start of the reduction, Article (75) of the Traffic Law will apply, which allows for a 25% reduction on individual violations, along with provisions for seizure and enforcement if the fine is not paid after the objection period and the legally prescribed payment grace period.

The Ministry of Interior urged all road users to adhere to traffic rules to meet safety requirements and avoid committing violations.
