Clashes Between Popular Mobilization Forces and Iraqi Army in Karbala (Video)

An Iraqi security source reported on Thursday that gunfire broke out between members of "Jund al-Imam" and the Iraqi army in Karbala province. Jund al-Imam Brigade is one of the armed factions affiliated with the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), led by Minister of Labor Ahmed al-Asadi.

According to the source, a quarrel escalated to gunfire directed at the Iraqi army by members of this faction, prompting a special security force from the PMF and security forces to arrive at the scene, arresting six members of "Jund al-Imam" and bringing the situation under control.

Karbala is experiencing heightened security measures in the days leading up to and during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, with Iraqi security forces deployed extensively in and around the city. They are conducting searches and monitoring routes used by pilgrims to ensure the safety of the crowds and protect them from any potential threats.
