Israel Kills Two Palestinians in the West Bank

This morning, Wednesday, Israeli forces killed two Palestinians and injured a third during their incursion into the town of Qabatia, south of Jenin.

The Israeli forces raided the town, stormed several homes, and targeted a vehicle with a barrage of bullets in one of the streets, resulting in the death of the two young men. The Israeli army stated that the Palestinians fired at its soldiers from a vehicle before being shot dead. They added that a rifle was found in the vehicle and that there were no injuries among their ranks.

The Islamic Jihad movement disclosed in a statement that "the two young men, Rani Walid Qatanat (24 years old) from Jenin camp, and Ahmad Jamal Asaf (19 years old) from Qabatia, were its members and were killed during an armed clash with the Israeli forces."

Press sources reported: "The two young men who fell during an armed clash with the occupation forces in Qabatia this morning are Ahmad Jamal Tawfiq Asaf from Qabatia and Rani Walid Ahmad Qatanat from Jenin camp."

The gunfire in Qabatia coincided with both sides bracing for escalation, following Israel's unexpected airstrikes on the Gaza Strip yesterday, which resulted in the deaths of three Islamic Jihad leaders and 10 civilians.
