The Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, announced today, Friday, a list of new appointments to senior management positions within the Emirates Group as part of efforts to support growth and enhance its leadership team. According to a statement issued by the group today, the list of promotions and senior appointments includes seven Emirati citizens, many of whom have developed their careers within the Emirates Group through various roles and continue to play a pivotal role in the group's success.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum stated, "These appointments reflect the magnitude of our operations and our increasing ambitions for the next phase, and I am pleased that we have been able to fill these roles relying on our internal talents, which include a group of Emirati national competencies." He added, "The Emirates Group will continue its investments to reinforce its leading position as the employer of choice for the best talents in the industry, to offer world-leading products and services, and to embody Dubai's vision to always be number one in all fields."
The new appointments effective from July 8, 2024, include Ali Mubarak Al Souri as Chief Executive Officer of Procurement and Facilities, Ahmad Safa as Head of Engineering and Maintenance, Badr Abbas as Senior Vice President of Cargo at Emirates, Captain Mark Bertonwood as Senior Vice President of Network Operations and Operational Safety, Mustafa Karam as Senior Vice President of Customer Affairs and Service Monitoring, Yusuf Mohammed Ali as Senior Vice President of Procurement and Logistics, David Bows as Senior Vice President of Air Policy and Aviation, Devarajan Srinivasan as Senior Vice President of Facilities and Assets Management, Mahmoud Al Khaja as Senior Vice President of Material Management and Repair, and Will Lofberg as Senior Vice President of International and Government Affairs.
Meanwhile, appointments effective from September 1, 2024, include Shahryar Nowabi as Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Flight Catering, and Mahmoud Amin as Senior Vice President of Engineering Projects and Aircraft Procurement.
