The film "Kira and the Djinn," directed by Marwan Hamed, won the Best Film award for 2022 at the 49th Festival of the Film Society in Egypt. It also received the Audience Award through the daily voting conducted throughout the festival days. The film garnered numerous awards, including Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Costume Design, Best Set Design, and Best Original Score, in addition to the Best Supporting Actress award for Razan Jamal and the Excellence in Acting award from the jury for Karim Abdel Aziz.

Cinematographer Sherif Mokhtar won the Best Promotional Poster Design award for the film "Nabil the Beautiful: A Beautician," while the Best Editing award went to Ahmed Hafez for the film "Night of the 14th Moon" directed by Hadi Al-Bagouri. Menna Shalaby won the Best Actress award for her role in the film "For Ziko," while Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz earned the Best Actor award for his role in the same film. Khaled Anwar received the Best Supporting Actor award for "Night of the 14th Moon," and the jury awarded a special prize to actor Magdy Kdwan for his role in the film "The Crime," directed by Sherif Arafa.

The festival, which began for the first time in 1974, presents all the films screened throughout the year for voting by critics, filmmakers, and members of the Film Society to select seven films that are then judged by a committee of seven members. The awards ceremony will take place on May 20 at the small theater of the Egyptian Opera House, honoring three cinema creators and stars.
