Israeli assaults continue in the south. In field developments, the Israeli army opened heavy machine gun fire at dawn towards the woods adjacent to the towns of Ramiah, Aita al-Shaab, Nakura, and Alma al-Shaab. They also fired illumination flares throughout the night over the border villages adjacent to the Blue Line in the western and central sectors. After midnight, the Israeli army's artillery shelled the Litani River with phosphorus projectiles, as well as the Saluki Valley opposite the town of Kfar Roum and the outskirts of Bani Hayyan with artillery shells. In response, "Hezbollah" announced that "in support of our steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza and in solidarity with their valiant and honorable resistance, and in response to the Israeli enemy's assaults on the steadfast southern villages and secure homes, especially the horrific massacre carried out by the enemy in the town of Bint Jbeil that led to the martyrdom of civilians, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance shelled Kiryat Shmona (the village of Khaltsa) with dozens of Fajr and Katyusha rockets."
