The United Arab Emirates and the Islamic Republic of Iran held the tenth session of their joint consular committee in Abu Dhabi, aimed at promoting and solidifying cooperation in all joint consular areas to care for and serve the citizens of both countries. The meeting was chaired by Khalid Abdullah Belhoul, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, and Ali Reza Baqeri, Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular and Parliamentary Affairs and Iranian Expatriates, represented Iran.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed several consular issues of mutual interest and plans for their follow-up and development, in addition to exploring ways to enhance joint consular cooperation. The Undersecretary affirmed the UAE's readiness to deepen cooperation in all fields, including economic and commercial areas, to advance bilateral relations between the two countries and enhance security, stability, and prosperity in the region. He emphasized the UAE's belief in the importance of building bridges of positive communication and fruitful cooperation with countries in the region, through establishing concepts of good neighborliness that contribute to establishing peace and stability and achieving development and prosperity for their peoples.
