New details have emerged in the case of the murder of (R.A.) after her ex-husband ran her over. According to relatives of the victim, (A.A.), who worked in the security forces, attacked his ex-wife with a knife and attempted to disfigure her before running her over several times with her own car and fleeing to an unknown location.
After 24 hours following the crime, security forces were able to arrest the killer. The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division stated, "On Thursday, (A.A., born 1972, Lebanese) killed his ex-wife, (R.A., born 1974, Lebanese), in the town of Bsaba – Chouf by running her over with the car, due to disputes between them after the victim recently obtained a divorce, and he fled to an unknown location. Immediately, the officers from the Mazraat al-Dahr police station under the Shuhat Force began investigations and searches to apprehend (A.A.) as quickly as possible.
As the investigation continued, it became clear that the perpetrator had stabbed his wife multiple times with a sharp object. After she managed to escape from him, he pursued her with the car, hit her from behind, and ran over her several times to ensure her death. Orders were given to close all entrances and exits of the town and to deploy as many patrols as possible to apprehend him, in coordination with the tracking office of the Judicial Police to search the woods adjacent to the town.
In less than 24 hours, information about his whereabouts was obtained within one of the town's neighborhoods, leading a force from the mentioned police station to the scene where they arrested him, providing relief to the townspeople and the region."
