The Deputy of Traditional Arts and Handicrafts in Iran's Gilan Province, Mostafa Najad, announced that 25 Iranian artists from traditional arts and handicrafts will be heading to Iraq.
Najad stated in comments that "exports are the key to solving sales problems in the field of handicrafts and traditional arts for Gilan, and thus attracting foreign markets is a priority."
He added that "after the arrangements made last month with the Iranian Trade and Development Organization and the Iranian commercial director in Najaf, Iraq, 25 active artists and shop owners from this province will be sent to Iraq for the first time after the victory of the Islamic Revolution."
Najad explained that "this step is aimed at marketing and gaining clients, as well as exporting handicraft products such as leather, woodwork, pottery, carpets, and mats."
