Syrian artist Ghassan Massoud has spoken out to deny rumors about a conflict with his colleague Basel Khayat.
In a press interview, Ghassan Massoud stated that all such news is false, emphasizing that his relationship with Basel Khayat is perfectly fine and that there is no disagreement between them. Massoud described Basel Khayat as a younger brother and son to him, affirming that their close bond cannot be disrupted by anyone. He expressed this sentiment by saying: "Basel is my younger brother and my son, and there is no one in a billion who can cause a dispute between us, nor can anyone in the world interfere between us."
The Syrian artist expressed his frustration with social media rumors, stating that what is being said is "just empty talk with no value, and I do not accept my name being involved in it in any way."
Regarding the series "Al-Zill" and the alleged conflict between the company and Basel Khayat, he clarified that filming was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and affirmed that he is not aware of any disputes. He added: "I do not know what happened between him and the production company or the director; that is a matter that concerns them. I am a practical and professional man." Several artistic pages reported a conflict between the director of "Al-Zill," Mohamed Al-Khayari, and artist Basel Khayat before his travel to Egypt, adding that Khayat's withdrawal has cost the company significant financial losses, amounting to half a million US dollars, and that the latter will pursue Khayat legally.
