Statement from the Teachers' Syndicate to Mikati

The Teachers' Syndicate has stated that "based on the positive remarks of caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati during the Cabinet session about sending a letter to the Parliament requesting the retrieval of the two teachers' laws for publication in the official gazette, following the Council of State's decision to suspend the implementation of the decrees rejecting the three laws, the Teachers' Syndicate requests that Prime Minister Mikati further this positive stance by publishing the two laws in the official gazette, as they are, after the judicial suspension of the rejection decrees, still in his custody for publication according to the proper procedures, and the rejection has become as if it never occurred originally and is considered null." The syndicate, in a statement, called on Prime Minister Mikati "to continue his positive actions by publishing the decree for the appointment of a new board of directors for the compensation fund to begin implementing a revival plan to protect the compensations of over thirty thousand teachers in private schools and to restore the rights of retired teachers."
