The American newspaper "Wall Street Journal" reported that Israeli officials state that unlike in the past, the northern leadership is pushing for a more aggressive approach against Hezbollah. An Israeli security official indicated to the newspaper that a disproportionate response from Hezbollah could "lead to an Israeli attack that would create a new reality on the northern border." Security analysts explained that such a war would be devastating for both sides, as Hezbollah, they say, possesses "enough rockets and drones to overcome Israeli air defenses, and thousands of trained infantry soldiers who can invade Israeli territory." According to them, in such a war, there would be civilian casualties on the Israeli side, and thus the Israeli army would strive to put an end to it quickly through airstrikes targeting the infrastructure located in villages in southern Lebanon.
