Sportsmanship in Question: Zamalek Player Engages in Dispute with Teammate, Club Imposes Penalty

Abd El-Wahid Sayed, the Director of Football for Egyptian club Zamalek, has decided to impose a financial penalty on goalkeeper Mohamed Awaad by deducting 25% of his contract value with the club. The club's media center reported that the deduction from Awaad's salary was due to his altercation with teammate Hossam Abdel-Megid during the match against Al-Masry, which took place on Monday as part of the Egyptian Premier League.

Mohamed Awaad clashed with his teammate Hossam Abdel-Megid during the team's match against Al-Masry in the Egyptian Premier League. Awaad shoved Abdel-Megid with his hand after conceding the second goal just minutes before the end of the match.

Al-Masry scored the first goal in the 20th minute through Fakhreddin Ben Youssef, and then added the second goal in the 86th minute via Mohamed El-Shami. Zamalek was awarded a penalty taken by Ahmed Mostafa "Zizo" that hit the crossbar, although replays indicated it crossed the goal line, the referee allowed the game to continue.

Youssef "Obama" reduced the deficit for Zamalek in the sixth minute of added time. Zamalek's points total remained at 31, placing them 11th, while Al-Masry raised their points to 42, securing second place.
