Lebanese Foreign Ministry Condemns Ongoing Aggression Against the Palestinian People in the West Bank

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants condemned "the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people in the West Bank" in a statement that said: "The Israeli occupation continues its aggression against the Palestinian people in the West Bank, intensifying its military attacks and persisting in the policy of settlement expansion and the seizure of more land and the displacement of Palestinians." It viewed this "continuous escalation as a systematic and deliberate destruction of the possibility of establishing an independent Palestinian state, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative stemming from the Beirut Summit (2002)." The ministry also condemned "the violation of the blood, land, and property of Palestinians in the occupied territories" and celebrated "the Palestinian people's adherence to their legitimate rights and their heroic defense of those rights." The ministry called on the international community to "be aware of the consequences of neglecting the peace process and failing to hold Israeli officials accountable for their aggressive policies."
