German Bundesliga competitor Bayer Leverkusen has signed Nigerian striker Victor Boniface from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise on a five-year contract, announced on Saturday. German media noted that "the deal is valued at around 20 million euros (22.25 million dollars) for the 22-year-old forward." Boniface scored six goals in the Europa League last season, including one against Leverkusen in the quarter-finals. In this context, Leverkusen's sporting director Simon Rolfes highlighted that "he will contribute to enhancing the depth of our squad given the number of matches in the league, the German Cup, and the Europa League."
