Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bohabib, after meeting with Canadian Ambassador Stéphanie Macoulm, requested that Canada and Western countries exert greater pressure on Israel to halt its aggression against Lebanon and Gaza, and to put an end to the ongoing series of massacres without any deterrent, as well as to condemn the crimes committed against civilians. Bohabib expressed his hope for the success of the upcoming efforts starting next Thursday to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which could lead to a de-escalation in the region and prevent the conflict from spreading. For her part, the Canadian Ambassador confirmed that her country is making ongoing efforts to reduce escalation and find a diplomatic resolution to the existing conflicts, praising the paper recently submitted by the Lebanese government that outlines its vision for establishing long-term stability in southern Lebanon.
