Israeli Attack on Hodeidah: Will It Happen Again Soon?

Israeli Army Radio revealed new details about the Israeli attack targeting Hodeidah in Yemen and the investigation into the Houthi drone that hit Tel Aviv. The radio stated, "In discussions regarding approval of the attack targets, it was decided in Israel to strike two locations in and near Hodeidah port: the first, energy infrastructure, where approximately 20 fuel storage facilities were attacked, most of which were inside the port complex and some storage facilities set up by the Houthis near the port. The second: cargo unloading capabilities at the port, where Israel intentionally targeted cranes that function to unload goods from ships to the dock."

The army radio noted that "the port's ability to receive goods has been completely disabled. This means that the Iranians will not be able to deliver ammunition to the Houthis by sea in the near future." It was revealed that "an initial investigation into the drone strike (Yafa) in Tel Aviv shows that the Houthis accurately used civilian flight paths and flew their attack drone through these routes as a deceptive attempt. This may have led to the incorrect assessment that the drone was non-hostile."

The report stated: "In Israel, they understand that the potential significance of the attack in Yemen is entering into a prolonged and direct round of strikes against the Houthis." The radio quoted a senior security official saying, "After the drone (Yafa) struck Tel Aviv, we realized that now the entire region is looking at us, from Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut to Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei in Tehran, and we had to show strength towards the entire region... If we do nothing, there will be a price for that."

He added, "It is very likely that we will have to attack again in Yemen several times soon... One should not expect that this attack will solve the Houthi problem. It is difficult for us to predict the Houthis' response, but we assess that they will take further actions as circumstances have changed."

The Israeli radio reported that "after an investigation in Israel, it was found that there is no link between the drone sent by the Houthis to Tel Aviv and the drone intercepted at the same time from eastern Israel. Israeli security forces understood that there was no coordination between the two militias in their actions."
