"Tashnag" Warns: Bourj Hammoud Has Its Own Identity (Video)

The "Tashnag Party" announced in a statement that "an individual incident occurred on the night of July 12 in the Tarad area of Bourj Hammoud, where some individuals from one of the families, known for their past and tendency to provoke issues, attempted to storm the Nikol Touman Club affiliated with the Tashnag Party in the area following a personal dispute, and attacked the Church of Our Lady of the Armenian Orthodox, which is only a few meters away from the Internal Security Forces station. These individuals also fired shots, and shouted insults and slogans that incite sectarian tensions."

The statement added: "However, the comrades present at the center and the residents of the area succeeded in repelling the attempts of assault and incursion." The statement continued: "The Tashnag Party in Lebanon draws everyone's attention to the fact that Bourj Hammoud has its own identity, and the party has made the highest sacrifices over the decades and spared no effort or blood to preserve that identity and coexistence within it. Therefore, the party addresses all those who have been unable to understand this identity, warning that such acts are completely unacceptable and cannot be overlooked in any way."

The statement concluded: "We place security and judicial authorities before their responsibilities, as it is unacceptable to overlook attempts to incite sectarian tensions in these sensitive conditions. Furthermore, residents cannot continue to endure armed displays and assaults on sanctities indefinitely. Accordingly, security agencies must swiftly address this dangerous phenomenon and refer the perpetrators to the judiciary, deterring all those who incite discord and ensuring security in safe areas."

Listen to this video carefully. Having an incident in a popular area is not news in itself. However, the protagonists of the incident scream, "This area is for Shiites." Where? In Bourj Hammoud, in Metn. Is this intimidation? Certainly. There is also a relaxation from a Christian component whose awareness has been damaged for years by theories of being "too small to be divided" and "Lebanon the message" and "the minority alliance."

A clash occurred yesterday among youths from the Bourj Hammoud area, during which sectarian phrases were raised that have nothing to do with coexistence.
