Israeli Forces Blow Up Fatah Headquarters in Al-Balata Camp in Nablus

Palestinian media reported that Israeli forces blew up the headquarters of Fatah and the home of citizen Falah Abu Hamdan early Wednesday morning, before withdrawing from Al-Balata camp south of Nablus in the West Bank. It was noted that "armed clashes occurred between a group of Palestinian gunmen and the Israeli forces, which had closed the entrances to Al-Balata camp coinciding with its raid. The Israeli forces deployed military reinforcements from Beit Furik towards Al-Balata camp, where the invading forces were targeted by gunfire and homemade explosive devices. The Israeli forces fired towards press crews covering the raid on Al-Balata camp.

According to the Red Crescent, there were 8 injuries from live ammunition, including one very critical injury, and 85 injuries from gas inhalation during the Israeli forces' incursion into the area of Joseph's Tomb and Al-Balata camp east of Nablus, as well as assaults on medical crews and preventing them from reaching an injured person near the Huwara checkpoint south of the city." Palestinian media indicated that the "Al-Balata Brigade" carried out an unprecedented operation targeting settlers directly as they boarded buses near the Huwara checkpoint to enter Nablus and clashed with the forces present there. It was noted that Israeli vehicles penetrating eastern Nablus were targeted with homemade explosive devices, coinciding with the sound of gunfire.

On the other hand, an Israeli army spokesperson reported that Israeli army fighters and special forces destroyed an explosives laboratory containing explosives ready for use in Al-Balata camp in Nablus. The spokesperson added that during the operation, the forces neutralized an explosive device that was placed at the entrance of Al-Balata camp and was ready to be activated, indicating that "the suspects threw stones during the operation, hurled explosives, and fired at the Israel Defense Forces, which responded by firing at the gunmen. No injuries were reported among the forces."
