Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Halabi, announced that he informed the caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, about the completion of the official exams conducted during the months of June and July. In a statement from the governmental palace following his meeting with Mikati, he said: "I informed the Prime Minister about the necessity of passing the decision to hold the extraordinary session in the first Cabinet meeting. It is planned, following the issuance of the decree, for the extraordinary session to begin on Saturday, August 24, and continue until the 28th or 29th, depending on the branch the candidates will apply for."
