The mother of Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi subtly indicated on Sunday that her son has made the family and the United Arab Emirates proud. In an interview with Dubai TV, she said: "I hope he returns safely to his homeland, and we celebrate him, and his country celebrates him."
Sultan Al Neyadi is returning today, Sunday, along with the "Crew-6" team to Earth, after completing the longest space mission in Arab history, which lasted six months. The "Dragon" spacecraft separated from the International Space Station on Sunday afternoon, with landing scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, at 08:07 AM UAE time, depending on weather conditions.
In a tweet on his official X account, Al Neyadi said: "To space, I won't say goodbye, but see you soon." He added: "See you soon on a new mission at the International Space Station or on a further destination."
He stated: "This might be my last video before returning and concluding our mission aboard the International Space Station... a mission where I shared with you the most beautiful moments and important unforgettable milestones... Thank you all for your wonderful interactions and your even greater passion for science."
He continued: "Before returning, I thank God for the blessing of the UAE that has turned our dreams into successes. I appreciate your trust, love, and prayers for our safe return. See you again soon."
