The city of Nabatieh held a large national and public funeral today, Saturday, for the victims of the Israeli airstrike in the region, which resulted in the deaths of seven members of the Hussein Barjawi family during an attack on their home. This event was organized in response to a call from the "Amal" Movement, the Honin Charity Association, the people of Nabatieh, and the surrounding towns of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Saksakiyeh, and Abba.
The official funeral procession began from the town of Abba to Deir al-Zahrani, where ambulances from the Islamic Scout Movement transported the bodies in a convoy of vehicles to the courtyard of the Hussaini Club in Nabatieh. Members of the Islamic Scout Movement carried the bodies, wrapped in Lebanese flags, on the arms of the paramedics, to the tune of the martyrdom melody played by the movement's band, arriving at the main platform where the coffins were placed. The victims included: Hussein Ahmad Dahir Barjawi, his wife Amal Mahmoud Ouda, their daughters Amani and Zainab, Fatima Ahmad Barjawi, Ghadeer Abbas Tarhini, and Mahmoud Ali Amir.
Attendees at the funeral included Hani Qubaisi, a member of the "Development and Liberation" bloc in Parliament, representing Speaker Nabih Berri; Mohammad Raad, head of the "Loyalty to the Resistance" bloc; MPs Ayoub Hamid, Amin Shiri, Hassan Abdul Rahim Murad, Ashraf Baydoun, Nasser Jaber, Qabli Qabli, former MP Mohammad Barjawi, the head of the political bureau of the "Amal" Movement, Jamil Hayek, and members of the movement’s leadership.
Also present were Sheikh Abdul Hussein Sadiq, the Mufti and Imam of Nabatieh, the president of the Asadi Movement, lawyer Maen Asad, central organizational official Yusuf Jaber, southern region official Nidal Htayt, as well as members of the regional leadership, various political parties, and representatives of different organizations, including the Mayor of Nabatieh Ahmad Kamil, the Vice President of the General Labor Union Hassan Faqih, members of the Honin Charity Association, and a representative from the Lebanese Bar Association, lawyer Shouki Shrime, along with prominent figures and delegations from the towns of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Honin, Abba, Saksakiyeh, and various regions.
