Qawouk: We Are Not in an Era Where a President Reassures the

Sheikh Nabil Qawouk, a member of the Central Council of "Hezbollah," affirmed that "in Hezbollah, we spare no opportunity to serve our people to alleviate their suffering, nor do we miss any opportunity in politics to find a solution to exit the presidential crisis. Therefore, we respond to all initiatives, but the challenge and confrontation group does not miss an opportunity except to complicate, obstruct, and escalate, waiting for a chance to incite and hinder any initiative." Qawouk's remarks came during a memorial event organized by the party at the Husseiniya of Qana in southern Lebanon, attended by a number of scholars, dignitaries, family members of martyrs, and a crowd of townspeople and neighboring villages.

He pointed out that "President Nabih Berri's initiative exposed the other team, as they publicly obstructed this initiative, which represents a real chance to save the country, in order to prolong the vacuum and the obstruction and incitement." He explained that "the other team gives the Lebanese people two options: either a president who leads the country into strife, or continued incitement and tension to drag the country into strife. Therefore, Lebanon's interest lies in the election of a president entrusted with saving the country and protecting civil peace."

He noted that "in Lebanon, we face two dangers: the risk of economic and financial collapse, and the risk of strife. The president must be trusted to confront the danger of strife, capable of stopping the collapse, and helping to save the country from hardships, financial, and social crises." He addressed the other team: "The loud noise and cacophony do not bring about a president nor change the equations, and we will not return to the era of 1982. We are in a time of victories and achievements and equations of resistance, not in a time that brings a president who reassures the enemy and poses a danger to civil peace. The other team claims it wants a president who fears American sanctions, while we say we do not want a president who fears America and its sanctions, but rather we want a president who is feared by Israel and reassures our Lebanese people."

Qawouk emphasized that "the resistance's tent in Bastra exposes the Israeli army and humiliates the Israeli entity every day, which is the mark of Lebanon's glory, not those who want to undermine the power equations in Lebanon to please the outside." He concluded by stressing that "the resistance has been able in recent years to achieve new equations at sea, land, and air levels, and has become stronger in the face of the enemy's threats, which has become more fearful of the resistance."
