Lionel Messi believes he deserves the Ballon d'Or for the best player in the world this year. Messi had a lighthearted conversation with an Argentine comedian on the "Olga" show on YouTube, where he was asked, "Who deserves the Ballon d'Or, you or Haaland?" Messi replied, "I deserve to win the award because I won the World Cup," to which the host interrupted, "But Iniesta won the World Cup in 2010 and didn't receive the Ballon d'Or."
Messi also revealed the job he would like to pursue after retiring from football. When asked about his retirement timeline, the "Little Flea" responded, "I haven't thought about it and I don't want to think about it." He added, "I just want to continue enjoying myself. That was the main reason for leaving Europe," referring to his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Inter Miami during the recent summer transfer window.
The 36-year-old Argentine international, who has won all the major titles in world football, including the World Cup, stated that after retirement, he would like to become a sports director or play any other role that keeps him connected to the beautiful game. He said, "I am lucky to do a job I love. Even though I have responsibilities and goals, it is still something I enjoy. What will I do after that? I don't know, I want to stay connected to football, I would like to be a sports director, or something like that."
