Death of Marine Sports Champion in the UAE

The death of UAE marine sports champion Ahmed Ali Jaber Rashid Al Hameli has been announced. He was a competitor for the Abu Dhabi, UAE, and Victory speedboat teams. Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Marine Sports Federation and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, stated that marine sports have lost one of their prominent champions with the passing of Ahmed Ali Jaber Al Hameli, who had a remarkable career full of achievements in local and international competitions.

In a statement, Sheikh Mohammed said that the late hero serves as an inspiring figure for current and future generations through his contributions, excellence, and national achievements, having raised the state’s flag on continental and international podiums and represented the UAE in many local and foreign sports events. Al Hameli, who passed away after a battle with illness, is considered a prominent figure in marine sports, having won the title of the first edition of the Formula Boat Continental Cup in the 2011 season, along with numerous other participations and notable results in regional, continental, and international championships. Moreover, he was one of the founders of the Abu Dhabi Racing Team for marine sports.
