Welcoming Ceremony for Taekwondo Champion Leticia Aoun After Her Olympic Performance

Taekwondo champion Leticia Aoun returned to Beirut after finishing fifth in the Paris Olympics in the under 57 kg weight category. She was welcomed in the VIP lounge of Rafic Hariri International Airport by François Saade, head of the Lebanese Olympic delegation, Dr. Habib Zarifeh, president of the Taekwondo Federation, Jihad Salameh, president of the fencing federation and the Mont La Salle Club, her family, a number of residents from her hometown of Damour, several members of the Taekwondo Federation, club presidents and members, as well as journalists and media representatives.

Initially, Dr. Zarifeh delivered a speech praising Aoun's performance at the Paris Olympics and thanked the Lebanese community both locally and abroad for closely following her matches and supporting her, while highlighting the role of journalists and media in covering the sport of taekwondo.

For her part, Aoun expressed that she was very close to winning a medal at the Olympics and thanked everyone who supported her during her preparations, including Dr. Zarifeh and the members of the administrative committee, her family, the coaching staff, the Mont La Salle Club led by Jihad Salameh, and the Lebanese people as a whole.

The third speech was delivered by Salameh, who expressed the pride and honor of the Mont La Salle Club in having Aoun as a member and wished her success in her future endeavors.
