Morocco has been honored with the organization of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 following Algeria's withdrawal from the race. The executive committee decided to award Morocco the hosting rights for the 2025 African championship after Algeria exited the bid for organization by the CAF.
On September 30, the CAF president, Patrice Motsepe from South Africa, announced the withdrawal of Guinea as the host for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 due to its unpreparedness to receive the continental competition.
Morocco will present 6 stadiums to host the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, all meeting the necessary criteria, which include: the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium with a capacity of 66,000, Agadir Stadium with 66,000, Grand Fez Stadium with 66,000, Tangier Stadium with 65,000, Marrakech Stadium with 55,000, and Mohammed V Stadium with 55,000.
Morocco previously hosted the Africa Cup of Nations in 1988, a tournament that featured eight teams, with the title won by Cameroon after defeating Nigeria 1-0 in the final match.
In the same context, Ivory Coast will host the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations 2024, starting next year from Saturday, January 13 to February 11, 2024, with the competition lasting for 4 weeks among 24 African nations.
