Egyptians are eagerly awaiting the announcement from the Dar Al-Ifta regarding the start date of the month of Dhul-Hijjah and the Eid al-Adha holiday after the Maghrib prayer tomorrow, Thursday. Astronomical calculations prepared by the Solar Research Institute at the National Institute for Astronomical Research have indicated that the crescent moon of Dhul-Hijjah will be born immediately after the conjunction occurs tomorrow, Thursday.
The head of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research in Egypt, Taha Rabih, stated that the beginning of the month of Dhul-Hijjah 1445 AH will be on Friday, June 7, 2024, while the Day of Arafah for the year 1445 AH will be on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Eid al-Adha will astronomically take place on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
The Egyptian Dar Al-Ifta mentioned regarding the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah 2024-1445 that the blessed month and the date of Eid al-Adha will be announced on Thursday, June 6, 2024, corresponding to the 29th of Dhul-Qi’dah 1445 AH. The statement clarified that the start date of the month of Dhul-Hijjah and the Eid al-Adha will be determined after the Maghrib prayer on the upcoming Thursday, following confirmation of the crescent sighting.
In Saudi Arabia, the Supreme Court has called on all Muslims across the Kingdom to observe the sighting of the crescent moon of Dhul-Hijjah on the evening of tomorrow, Thursday. The court urged all Muslims throughout the Kingdom to be on the lookout for the crescent moon and that anyone who sees the crescent with the naked eye or through telescopes should report to the nearest court and register their testimony, or contact the nearest center to assist them in reaching the nearest court.
