The Hamas movement expressed that it has been following with astonishment and strong disapproval the statements made by U.S. President Joe Biden, who claimed that the movement is retracting from the ceasefire agreement. In its statement, Hamas affirmed that Biden's and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's remarks are misleading claims that do not reflect our true position, which is committed to achieving a cessation of hostilities. Hamas highlighted that what was recently presented to them constitutes a coup against what the parties had reached on July 2, based on Biden's own declaration. It described the recent proposals as an American response and submission to the new conditions set by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who they accused of criminal plans against the Gaza Strip. Hamas added that the mediators in Qatar and Egypt know that the movement has engaged positively in all negotiations and that Netanyahu constantly obstructs reaching an agreement.
