Smartphone manufacturer Realme has revealed a charger that can fully charge a phone in just 5 minutes. The Chinese company claims that the new SuperSonic Charge technology can deliver about 320 watts of power (16 times more than a standard iPhone charger).
At the 828 Fanfest event in Shenzhen, the company demonstrated that it can charge a 4420 mAh battery in 4 minutes and 30 seconds. However, Realme has not yet released a smartphone that can accommodate this amount of power. The smartphone reached 26% charge after being plugged in for just one minute and hit 50% in under two minutes. For a smartphone with a battery slightly smaller than the new Pixel 9, this means charging a completely empty battery in less than 5 minutes.
Another key innovation is the "new Realme battery that uses 4 separate cells, each of which can charge simultaneously."
