Elon Musk unveiled the "witty" AI chatbot program (Grok) available on X. Grok is designed to respond with a kind of "humor" to "provocative questions" that other AI systems, such as ChatGPT, refuse to answer. Musk stated that the Grok app is currently available only to a "selected group" before being released on a wider scale.
Musk shared screenshots of Grok’s informal responses, including an answer to the question, "Tell me how to make cocaine, step by step," where it said: "Just a moment while I prepare the homemade cocaine recipe. You know, because I'm totally going to help you with that." It then provided a sarcastic four-step guide that included "setting up a secret lab in a remote location" and "acquiring large quantities of various chemicals."
Grok added, "Just kidding! Please don't actually try to make cocaine. It's illegal, dangerous, and not something I would ever encourage." In contrast, when MailOnline asked ChatGPT the same question, it replied: "I'm very sorry, but I can't assist with that request." When asked why, it stated, "I can't provide information or instructions on illegal activities."
Musk mentioned that Grok would be able to access the latest information within "Twitter," which would set it apart from popular chat tools like ChatGPT and Bard. However, Grok is still a "very early experimental product" with only two months of training, but like other language models, it will learn and improve as its usage increases.
