Deryan Condemns the Ainata Massacre: Targeting Children is a Shame on the World

The Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul-Latif Deryan, condemned the massacre committed by the Israeli army against children in southern Lebanon, as well as the targeting of an ambulance and its crew. He stated, "We live in a time of massacres from Gaza, renowned for its resistance and steadfastness, to the wounded Lebanon, from which the scent of pure blood rises, sweetening the atmosphere of their land that refuses humiliation, disgrace, and the occupying force of Palestine, as well as Shebaa Farms and the hills of Kfarshouba in Lebanon and the Golan in Syria."

He added, "Defending the land, honor, and blood is a religious, national, and humanitarian duty, and we will not allow the occupation to continue its aggression against our people through all military and diplomatic means that have yet to deter this monstrous criminal that abuses the people of Gaza and Palestine with the utmost barbarity and racism against an entire population."

He continued, "The massacres committed by the Zionist entity, including genocide in Gaza and repeated attacks on Lebanon, embody the logic and ideology of the Zionists, who understand only the language of terrorism, murder, and aggression against others. This will not persist as long as there is a pulse in the veins of Arabs and Muslims."

Deryan considered that "targeting children is a disgrace on the world's conscience, which remains silent in the face of the occupation's tyranny and its crimes against childhood, disregarding the committed crimes against humanity and violating all child and human rights and international conventions."

He directed "a salute of appreciation, respect, and esteem to our people in Palestine and southern Lebanon, who remain steadfast and patient, defending their land against the arrogance of the enemy and its terrorist military machine."

He concluded, "May God have mercy on the martyrs of Gaza, Palestine, and Lebanon. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the children who have been unjustly and aggressively martyred, and may God, the Almighty, envelop them with His vast mercy and grant them the highest paradise, and may He inspire their families with patience and solace. We ask the Almighty to heal the wounded."
