Russia: Scientists Detect 6 Strong Solar Flares

The Institute of Applied Geophysics in Moscow has reported the detection of 6 strong solar flares, some of which have impacted the functionality of wireless communication networks on Earth. In a report issued by the institute, it stated: "On Monday, July 22, at 12:35 Moscow time, a solar flare of level M1.4 was detected in sunspot region 3762 (S12E42), lasting for 9 minutes... At 16:00 Moscow time, another M1.5 flare was recorded in sunspot region 3744 (N14W88), lasting for 17 minutes." The report noted that these two flares caused disruptions to some high-frequency wireless communication services on Earth, and the M1.4 flare was accompanied by a burst of spectral radiation. Scientists at the institute also reported the observation of 4 other M-class solar flares, one of which was detected on Monday night, with 3 additional flares occurring between 06:30 and 08:00 Moscow time on Monday.
