Portuguese Jose Mourinho, the head coach of the Italian club Roma, stated today, Wednesday, that he will one day join the Saudi Professional Football League, without specifying a timeframe for that move. Mourinho's contract with Roma, the "Wolves," ends at the conclusion of the current season (2023-2024), amidst conflicting reports about whether he will extend his contract or leave for a new experience in another league.
The Portuguese coach's name has been linked to a move to the Saudi Professional League following a surge in global signings for the tournament since his compatriot, star Cristiano Ronaldo, joined Al Nassr in January 2022, attracting top players and coaches from around the world.
Mourinho mentioned in an interview with (Rai1), when asked about the possibility of coaching in the Saudi League: “I believe that I will go and coach there, yes... but that day won’t be tomorrow or the day after…".
In addition, Mourinho ruled out the idea of returning to manage Real Madrid, which he managed between 2010 and 2013.
It is noteworthy that Jose Mourinho has coached large clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Manchester United, and Porto over a 23-year coaching career, and holds 26 titles. The "Special One" has won the Best Coach in the World award four times and is considered the only coach in football history to have won all three UEFA club competitions, having lifted the UEFA Champions League titles in 2004 and 2010, the UEFA Europa League in 2003 and 2017, and the new third-tier title, the UEFA Conference League with Roma in 2022.
