Iraqi Police Arrest Suspect Who Intended to Burn

Iraqi police arrested a suspect on Sunday who was planning to burn the headquarters of "Saraya al-Salam," the military wing of the Sadrist movement led by Muqtada al-Sadr, in the Aawasha area of the city of Al-Amarah. The Maysan Provincial Police Command in southern Iraq stated in a release that upon receiving information regarding the matter, a "joint force from the local police department, the third federal police brigade, and emergency police patrols" was formed. They added that as soon as the force arrived, a security cordon was established around the area, facilitating the immediate arrest of the suspect. The police reported that the suspect was riding a motorcycle and threw two Molotov cocktails at the headquarters but was apprehended without causing any damage, explaining his actions as stemming from hatred and malice. The police also noted that necessary legal measures were being taken against him.
