Activists on social media have been sharing clips from the 2022 honor ceremony for the stars of the series "The Grasp of the Free," attended by Yahya Sinwar, the head of Hamas in Gaza. They noted that the Palestinian artistic work addressed many details of the "Flood of Al-Aqsa" battle plan before it occurred. During the ceremony, Sinwar stated that "artistic work is invariably linked to the preparation of the Al-Qassam Brigades, their intelligence, and their various fields of operation," describing the series as a "great effort."
Social media users widely circulated clips from the series and Sinwar's speech, highlighting many of the events depicted in the Palestinian work that indeed took place during the Flood of Al-Aqsa operation and the subsequent Israeli aggression.
The series "The Grasp of the Free," filmed last year and funded by the artistic production department of Hamas, aims to present a Palestinian narrative counter to Israeli narratives, affirming the Palestinian people's right to their land and continuing resistance until achieving full rights.
The series narrates events of a military operation conducted by Palestinian fighters behind the lines of Gaza, achieving victory by breaching Israeli surveillance systems and intelligence apparatuses before capturing several Israelis, delivering a painful blow to the occupation, similar to the victories achieved by Palestinian factions on October 7.
