In the past two days, a significant uproar has emerged among high school "Tawjihi" students in Jordan following allegations of the leak of the biology exam paper for scientific students, as well as questions from other subjects, via social media. Students are divided in their opinions, with some claiming the exam questions were leaked after the session began, while others stated that the paper was in the hands of some individuals before entering the exam hall.
**Ministry of Education's Response**
In response, Mohammad Shahada, the Director of Examinations at the Jordanian Ministry of Education, clarified that the ministry caught some students taking pictures of Tawjihi exam papers in certain subjects, confirming that photographing the exam paper after the exam has started is a possibility. He explained that even if the Tawjihi exam paper left the hall, it is extremely difficult for answers to return to students inside the hall during the exam. He also noted that the ministry recorded about 900 violations during the Tawjihi exams, most of which involved bringing communication devices.
**Security Source**
A Jordanian security source indicated that the Cyber Crime Unit is monitoring social media pages and the messaging application "Telegram" specifically, which claimed the leak of exam questions from the life sciences Tawjihi 2024 subject. The source added that information regarding the exam question leaks has been received, and efforts are underway to verify its accuracy by technicians in the unit. If the unit confirms the existence of a leak, those involved will be legally pursued.
It is worth mentioning that the Tawjihi is the secondary school certificate examination in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, representing the final stage of school education before joining a university or college. To apply for the exam, a student must successfully complete 9 years of basic education and 2 years of academic or vocational secondary education, or 10 years of basic education and 1 year of secondary education in both tracks.
