Weather Forecast: Hot Air Masses Gradually Retreat Starting Today

The hot and humid air masses will gradually retreat from Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean starting today, Sunday, with a decrease in temperatures returning to seasonal averages, especially on the coast, along with a decrease in humidity, reducing the feeling of heat. Temperatures are expected to rise again on Tuesday.

- **Sunday:** Generally few clouds with a gradual and noticeable decrease in temperatures, as well as a decrease in humidity on the coast. Winds will occasionally strengthen, mitigating the feeling of heat, with fog forming in the highlands starting in the afternoon.

- **Monday:** Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with an additional decrease in temperatures, especially on the coast, returning to seasonal averages, while temperatures remain relatively unchanged in the inland and mountainous areas. Occasionally strong winds will occur, and fog will form in the medium altitudes.

- **Tuesday:** Generally few clouds with a rise in temperatures, particularly in the inland and mountainous areas, with the return of thermal inversion. Humidity will increase on the coast, enhancing the sensation of heat, and fog will form in the medium altitudes.

- **Wednesday:** Generally clear with an additional rise in temperatures on the mountains and inland, while temperatures remain relatively stable on the coast with high humidity, increasing the sensation of heat. Fog will form in the medium altitudes during the morning and evening.

**Note:** The average temperatures for June in Beirut range between 22 and 30°C, in Tripoli between 20 and 29°C, and in Zahle between 16 and 32°C.

**Warning:** Avoid sun exposure during peak hours and be cautious of wildfires in forested and inland areas.

**Civil Defense Statement:** The General Directorate of Civil Defense issued a statement today emphasizing the importance for citizens to adhere to its guidelines to prevent the risk of forest fires and to refrain from using fireworks, especially near forests or dry grasslands, particularly under the extreme heat conditions prevailing in Lebanon.
