Arab Parliament Welcomes Agreement Between Yemeni Government and Houthis

The Arab Parliament welcomed in a statement "the announcement by the UN envoy to Yemen of an agreement between the Yemeni government and the Houthis to resolve the Yemeni crisis," considering that "this announcement represents a step in the right direction to calm the situation and reduce escalation in Yemen." It affirmed its "full support for regional and international efforts aimed at ending the ongoing situation in Yemen, leading to the realization of the aspirations of the Yemeni people for establishing peace and security." The Parliament expressed hope in "building on this important step," calling on "all Yemeni parties to prioritize the national interest of the Yemeni people and sit around the dialogue table," aiming for a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis according to relevant references and Security Council resolutions.
