Unprecedented Crime: Military Personnel Killed During Service

Unidentified individuals opened fire at soldier (A. S. Sh.) in the Lebanese Army at a guard post near the port in front of the expatriate statue at two in the morning. He was shot in the head with a fatal injury. According to reports, they proceeded to steal his service rifle, and the crime was only discovered during a guard change when he was found lifeless. The military intelligence has initiated an investigation to identify the attackers and is reviewing surveillance footage in the area. Reports described the incident as an unprecedented act of aggression against a soldier on duty, along with the theft of his official weapon.

The Army Command - Directorate of Guidance released the following statement: "On the night of June 13-14, 2024, one of the soldiers assigned to guard duty in the vicinity of the port of Beirut was found shot dead with two bullets from a military firearm, and his weapon had not been recovered. Specialized units in the army have examined the crime scene, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the incident."
