A federal court in New York has revealed documents containing the names of individuals possibly involved with the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein in sexual crimes, including former President Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew, Duke of York. The documents list approximately 170 people, including politicians and celebrities associated with Epstein. They contain testimonies from victim Virginia Giuffre, Epstein's associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and others, as well as details of communications between the billionaire and these individuals.
Epstein died in prison in New York in August 2019, before he could be tried for the sexual exploitation of minors, having committed suicide due to "neglect" from prison staff, as concluded by the U.S. Department of Justice in mid-2023. Reports emphasized that "the mere appearance of names in the files does not necessarily indicate their involvement in wrongdoing," as criminal charges have only been directed at Epstein and Maxwell for the abuse of girls and young women in residences in New York, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and other locations.
### Clinton
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton appears over 50 times in the documents, but according to ABC News, this does not imply his involvement in illegal activities. A photo exists of Clinton with Epstein, but representatives of the former president indicated that communication between them ceased in 2005, before the criminal allegations emerged. The 2015 lawsuit filed by victim Virginia Giuffre alleged that she met Clinton on Epstein's private island, Little Saint James. Flight logs maintained by one of Epstein's pilots show Clinton used Epstein's plane several times between 2002 and 2003 for humanitarian projects in Africa, Paris, Bangkok, and Brunei. Clinton previously stated that Epstein was a "successful funder" and committed to charitable work, appreciating his generosity during a trip to Africa focused on democracy building, poverty alleviation, and citizen service.
In 2019, a spokesperson for Clinton said he "never went to Little Saint James island, Epstein's New Mexico ranch, or his residence in Florida." However, the documents noted that Maxwell claimed Clinton traveled multiple times on Epstein's private jet, though the exact number of trips was not specified. Another victim, Joanna Cyborg, stated in a 2016 conversation with Epstein, he referred to Clinton's admiration for "young women." When asked if Clinton was a friend of Epstein, she mentioned awareness of "business" dealings between them. A spokesperson for Clinton told CNN that it had been about "20 years since Clinton last communicated with Epstein."
### Trump
Cyborg also claimed that during one trip with Epstein, the pilots needed to land in Atlantic City, and Epstein suggested they call former President Donald Trump. She recounted, "Jeffrey said, we'll call Trump, and we'll go to... I don't remember the name of the casino, but we'll go there." She confirmed in her testimony that she never gave a "massage" to Trump. No misconduct allegations against Trump regarding Epstein were indicated in those documents, according to CNN.
The Wall Street Journal reported a collection of documents showing a circle of prominent figures associated with Epstein after his conviction for sexual crimes, noting that this list is broader than previously reported. The newspaper explained that flight logs indicated CIA Director William Burns, since 2021, had three meetings with Epstein in 2014, while he was Deputy Secretary of State, initially meeting in Washington, then subsequently visiting.
### Prince Andrew
Among the names that appeared in the documents was Prince Andrew, Duke of York and son of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Maxwell indicated his visit to Epstein's island on one occasion. When asked whether there were any girls under 18 during his visit, she answered: "There were no girls on the island at all. No girls or women... there were only the kitchen and cleaning staff." However, documents revealed Cyborg's allegation that Prince Andrew touched her inappropriately while she was sitting on a couch in Epstein's Manhattan home in 2001, according to her 2016 testimony. Buckingham Palace previously denied these allegations, stating they are completely false.
### Michael Jackson
Among the famous names revealed in the documents was the late pop star Michael Jackson. One witness in the case claimed she met the singer at Epstein's house. Axios reported that the singer "asked her to give him a massage," which she refused to do. Epstein, who was convicted in 2008 for solicitation of prostitution, had social relationships with prominent figures worldwide. Prosecutors accused him in 2019 of running a "vast network" of underage girls for sexual purposes, and he was found dead in his cell while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
