Osimhen's Agent Issues Statement After Speculation Linking Client to Saudi League Move

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen reacted angrily to speculation suggesting he would leave his Serie A team to move to Saudi Arabia at the end of the current season. This rumor was sparked by Mamuka Gogicha, the agent of his teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Gogicha told Georgian station TV1 yesterday that despite Osimhen signing a new contract with Napoli, he believes the Nigerian will make the move to Saudi Arabia once the season concludes.

Currently preparing to represent Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations, Osimhen posted a strong response on social media today, addressing Gogicha's claims. On Instagram, he used strong language to describe the agent, stating: "Dear Mamuka Gogicha, you are a piece of dirt and shame, I feel embarrassed by your logic." He added: "Stay away from mentioning my name!!!"

Roberto Calenda, the agent of the Nigerian international striker, also released a statement in response to the news linking his client to a move to the Saudi league. Gogicha had claimed that Osimhen would be playing in Saudi Arabia beginning next season.

In a statement posted on his X account, Calenda said: "Everyone should look after their own business and respect the work of others. It is not correct to talk about the future of other players." He added, "The alleged words of agent Mamuka Gogicha are bad, shallow, and unacceptable."

Calenda continued: "These rumors create problems for Victor Osimhen with Napoli fans without any reason or truth in reality. Osimhen has just signed a contract renewal with Napoli, and his only wish, besides winning the Africa Cup of Nations (with his national team Nigeria), is to help Napoli. Everything else is nonsense."

Saudi clubs showed interest in signing Osimhen during the last summer transfer window, but the Nigerian international preferred to renew his contract with Napoli for two more seasons until June 2026. Osimhen is set to lead Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, where the "Super Eagles" are competing in Group A alongside Ivory Coast, Guinea, and Equatorial Guinea.
