Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti discussed with his American counterpart Antony Blinken "efforts to contain the escalation and reach a ceasefire in Gaza." In a phone call, Abdel Atti emphasized to Blinken the "necessity and urgency of achieving an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza," in addition to the "importance of engaging seriously and with true political will in the negotiations." According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, "Minister Abdel Atti stressed to Blinken the need for a positive approach to the Egyptian-Qatari-American mediation."
