The Joint Operations Command of the Iraqi Army announced the deaths of several terrorists belonging to ISIS during a special operation east of Salah al-Din in Kirkuk, Iraq. In a statement from the Security Media Cell, it was mentioned that "following a successful security operation carried out in the (Qara Hanjir) area east of Kirkuk by security units from Sulaymaniyah, which resulted in the death of one ISIS member and the arrest of another terrorist, investigations with the arrested individual revealed the presence of an important hideout for ISIS members in the Balkana Mountains within the operational area of eastern Salah al-Din, as reported by the official Iraqi News Agency (INA)."
It added that through high coordination between the National Security Agency and the authorities in the Kurdistan Region, under the supervision, follow-up, and planning of the air targeting cell of the Joint Operations Command, and using technical resources, the hideout was monitored, and it contained terrorist elements. The statement explained that the Iraqi Air Force was able to target the hideout, completely destroying the terrorist elements inside.
