No Solution Without Charter Partnership and Presidential Settlement

Sheikh Ahmad Qablan, the prominent Jaafari mufti, delivered a Friday sermon at Imam Hussein Mosque in Burj al-Barajneh, where he expressed that "what is happening in Gaza and the world is the greatest outrage," adding that many Arabs and Muslims have sided with the oppressors after abandoning their faith, their Prophet, and opposing the Quran of their Lord. He affirmed that "a believer cannot be a true believer if they do not participate in the battle to uphold the truth, negate falsehood, and fulfill their moral and social duties across all sectors and arenas of life, including our markets, livelihoods, schools, universities, hospitals, and industries, as well as all types of pressure towards public justice, with the backdrop of building a foundation of truth in all aspects of our lives, including governance and its facilities and institutions."

He pointed out that "the country is experiencing a political rift supported by an American project aimed at draining Lebanon and emptying the resources of the state and Lebanese society. Although sovereign needs require meeting, cooperation, and dialogue, some still insist on acting as agents for Washington at the expense of national interests," considering that "what is happening politically is disgraceful, and there is no solution without charter partnership and a presidential settlement that confirms national interest and political, social, financial, and economic stability. Waiting and emptiness harm the upper interests of the country, and all honor and pride go to the national community that offers sacrifices for this homeland and its resistance, which is fighting the largest national sovereignty wars."

He emphasized that "for the first time, it is clear to Tel Aviv and others that playing with sovereignty and exclusivity has ended, and the sovereignty of the country and its interests are one. Any strategic error regarding the region's interests will result in catastrophe for both Western interests and the Zionist entity." He regarded "the model presented by Yemen as the greatest proof that the balance of the Middle East has changed, and what comes after October 7 will not be like what was before it at all."

On the internal level, he noted, "We are among those who supported passing the budget in Parliament, and our stance on it resembled drinking poison, despite our confirmation and insistence on making the unjust taxes lighter, due to the significance of state finances concerning national interest. From reviewing the revenue records of last year and the surplus achieved, as well as what is expected this year in confirmed revenues, the government now has no excuse concerning the finances of the Ministry of Health and social security and the social sector. Any shortcoming in this regard is considered a breach of trust and betrayal, tantamount to executing the people."

He asserted that the state must complete the restructuring of banks and people's deposits, in addition to protecting markets from foreign intervention, which has become like cancer, stating that the salvation of the country begins by putting an end to displacement, economic crime, national recession, and security and criminal offenses.

Mufti Qablan concluded his remarks by expressing "gratitude to the people of the south for their patience, thanks to every patriot, and thanks to the great resistance, as well as gratitude to the army and the people, and for the political stance that befits the gravest sovereignty war ever."
