Barcelona's manager, La Liga champion Xavi Hernandez, indicated today, Tuesday, that he felt "liberated" after announcing his decision to leave at the end of the current season, adding that the pressures of managing the club have prevented him from enjoying his position at this time. He told reporters ahead of tomorrow's match against Osasuna that "they make you feel unappreciated at every moment here."
Xavi stated that the impact on Barcelona's coaches differs from that experienced by coaches of other clubs. He added, "I think we have a problem when it comes to the requirements associated with this job (at Barcelona)."
Xavi announced his departure following Barcelona's 5-3 loss to Villarreal, marking the team's third loss in their last four home matches in the league. The team had previously exited the Copa del Rey at the hands of Athletic Bilbao. Under Xavi's leadership, Barcelona won the La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup in the 2022-2023 season. The team currently sits in fourth place in the league, trailing Girona, the leader, by 11 points.
