The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bohabib, received the British Foreign and Defense Ministers, David Lammy and Jon Healey, in the presence of the accompanying delegation and the British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Coyle. Minister Bohabib expressed his appreciation for the British delegation's visit, "especially as it comes amid serious recent developments in Lebanon and the region, and Israel's ongoing aggression." He emphasized "the importance of the full implementation of Resolution 1701 as a key to restoring calm to Southern Lebanon." He also warned of "the danger of slipping into a comprehensive war if influential countries close to and friendly with Israel do not pressure it to de-escalate and refrain from resorting to irresponsible military options." The British ministers expressed "their concern over the potential deterioration of the situation in the region," stressing "the necessity of a ceasefire in Gaza." The British Foreign Minister voiced his "doubts about the possibility of reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, and his concern that miscalculations by all parties could lead the region to further escalation."
