The "bubbles of internal tensions" that occurred in the past 48 hours locally have dissipated, and with the approaching holy month of Ramadan, where the Dar al-Fatwa has called for sighting the Ramadan crescent at sunset tomorrow, strongly suggesting that Monday, March 11, will be the first day of the holy month, the scene is expected to see further relaxation except for the mobilization appearances related to the ongoing confrontations from Gaza to southern Lebanon. The first of these appearances will be by Hezbollah's Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, next Wednesday during the first Ramadan evening, according to "Al-Liwa."
In this context, fears have risen regarding the unraveling situation in light of the state of imbalance in northern Israeli settlements and the visible confusion within the cabinet (war council), and consequently, Benjamin Netanyahu's government. According to "Yedioth Ahronoth," the northern settlement areas have transformed into a security belt within Israel and remain almost deserted amid Hezbollah operations.
Tomorrow, the heads of councils in the settlements will meet to discuss what actions to take against Netanyahu's government, considering the formation of a delegation to go to occupied Jerusalem and storm the Israeli Prime Minister's office, arguing that the settlements are experiencing a real war.
On the other hand, Hezbollah continues to assert that Israeli targeting of civilians and the vulnerable in border villages is a red line, and it is not inclined to overlook responding to attacks.
While some Lebanese sources mentioned that the American presidential mediator Amos Hochstein is about to freeze his mediation pending clarity on the situation in the Gaza war, an experienced American diplomat who has witnessed the situation in Lebanon and the region (David Hale) has called for an American non-retreat regarding Resolution 1701, considering that the responsibility lies on Hezbollah, which has not adhered to the resolution since its adoption in 2006.
Sources close to the "communication kitchen" indirectly indicated that there has been an equation in place since the beginning of the "support war" on October 8, 2023, aimed at neutralizing civilians on both sides of the border: the Lebanese border villages and the northern Israeli settlements, which Israel has undermined. The efforts, in parallel to what is happening on the Gaza front, aim to revive this equation until the path of ceasefire negotiations in the sector becomes clear.
The sources did not rule out de-escalation concerning civilians during the holy month of Ramadan, unless the regional situation as a whole unravels, in light of settlers' actions at Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to "Al-Liwa."
Meanwhile, Channel 13 in Israel revealed that the Israeli army is "formulating a plan for a ground invasion into Lebanon," noting that Brigadier General Moshe Tamir has been tasked with preparing several possible plans for a ground operation in Lebanon at different levels, acknowledging that Tamir had formulated the plan for the Israeli army's entry into Gaza, as he was asked to draw lessons from the combat in the sector.
