The draw for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers resulted in three Arab teams (Kuwait, Lebanon, UAE) being placed in Group C, while the Qatari team will face its Jordanian counterpart in the final Group J. The draw took place today, Thursday, June 13, at the Asian Football Confederation headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The draw produced 10 groups; five groups consisting of four teams and five groups consisting of five teams. According to the rules of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers, the winner of each group, along with the five best second-placed teams, will qualify for the tournament, which is set to take place in China.
The qualifiers will be held in a "single round-robin" format from September 21 to 29, with the AFC designating one team from each group to host the matches within that group. The final tournament of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup is scheduled to be held in China from February 6 to 23, 2025, approximately five months after the qualifiers conclude.
