The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported 306 fatalities and 820 injuries in Lebanon since the outbreak of war on October 8, 2023, until March 7 of this year. The statistics indicate that the number of civilian deaths was 51, including 22 women, 8 children, 3 journalists, and 7 healthcare workers. As of March 7, the number of displaced individuals has reached 90,859, with 52 percent of them being female. Notably, there are 18 shelter centers housing only 1,501 internally displaced persons.
⚠️ The number of civilian casualties in Lebanon has increased amid rising intensity of gunfire. Airstrikes have damaged homes, relief centers, and public infrastructure. Humanitarian workers in Lebanon are calling for an immediate halt to attacks against civilians and civilian sites.
Furthermore, the area of land affected by Israeli shelling has reached 462 hectares, and 9 water facilities have been destroyed, impacting approximately 100,000 residents. Additionally, 6 healthcare facilities in Marjeyoun and Bint Jbeil have been reported closed. A total of 72 public and private schools have been partially or completely closed in the affected villages, and 72 percent of farmers have lost their livelihoods, with 300 farms impacted, including poultry, livestock, and beekeeping operations.
